"Uhm, what exactly are you three doing?"

"NOTHING!"

"Hi Snake!!" She saw a flash of a brown paw waving at her, but only for a heartbeat.

From Snakebane's point of view, she was watching the littlest dragons she'd ever known trying to roll a very un-smooth egg over a stone walkway... a walkway that even most Berkians didn't roll their carts through. But she had to remind herself that the nano dragons' world consisted largely of the twins' cabin and the surrounding yard, so they didn't really know anything about that. But for them to be all the way out here...

She paused to paw at the egg, sniffing a little. Were these Gronckle eggs...??? They decided to nest this far into the village? What for? The two nanos nearly crushed beneath it wheezed in relief; Blinky, to his credit, seemed completely unbothered, but one of his eye stalks extended to sleepily blink at her in confusion that his perch was compromised a little.

"The humans were upset!!" Itsy, the brown and black dragonmouse chirruped below Snakebane's claws, her thin wings fluttering everywhere. "These eggs are gonna EXPLODE!!!"

Well. That was most certainly true. Was it really almost time for them to hatch though?

"Do... you need help solving that?" Snakebane tentatively offered to the trio. Blinky yawned, all three eyes opening at different intervals as he craned his neck down to the pair beneath. Before Itsy could agree with a gleam in her eye, her partner in crime hissed and spat. Bitzy lashed his wild tail, wings flaring.

"No! We don't need her help, Its!!" He sneered. "The LAST thing we need is a TOWNBRED doing OUR job!"

Alright, that was enough of that nonsense. Snakebane took the bulbous egg between two paws, ignoring Bitzy trying to gnaw at her toes to dissuade her. "Can you just admit you need a bigger dragon's help? I know a safe place to put 'em, stop trying to kill me."

Gods above and below, he was worse than a stoat sometimes. Itsy and Blinky were thankfully unbothered; the dragonmouse fluttered happily onto Snakebane's shoulder to be her second eyes, and the sluggish smoothshell simply re-positioned himself neatly on top of the egg's surface so he could continue his nap. With Bitzy's terrible biting habits redirected onto the tip of her tail, Snakebane padded further into the forests of Berk... Surely there was a nice cozy rocky area for these eggs to be relocated to, yeah?
Snake can't catch a break.
